KATHY WRIGHT ENDOWMENT FUND

In the spirit of compassion and empathy, this fund was established to recognize the innocence and vulnerability of animals and children. It is inspired by the timeless refrain: “Bless the beasts and the children, for in this world, they have no choice, they have no voice.” Knowing that there are children and animals who are not loved, well cared for or, perhaps, have no one to look after them, and that if something, even if it is small, can be done to help them, then we should - Kathy Wright.

 

All grants from this fund will be accompanied by a communication to each recipient organization, acknowledging that the grant is made in memory of the donor's brother, Scott Kendrick, who always loved animals and children and showed them kindness and treated them like the innocents they are.

The overall purpose of this fund is to make grants to well-established, well-governed, qualified nonprofit organizations serving communities to meet these needs in the following ways:

  1. Education: Nurture young minds. Support quality education, scholarships, and mentorship programs.
  2. Health and Wellness: Prioritize physical and emotional well-being. Ensure access to healthcare, nutritious meals, and safe spaces.
  1. Animal Guardianship and Compassion
  1. Rescue and Rehabilitation: Fund animal shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue organizations. Provide medical care, love, and second chances.
  2. Spaying and Neutering: Prevent overpopulation and suffering. Support programs that promote responsible pet ownership.
  3. Wildlife Conservation: Protect our planet’s precious creatures. Contribute to preserving habitats and safeguarding endangered species.
  1. Advocacy and Amplification
  1. Children’s Rights: Empower advocates who champion children’s rights. Support organizations that fight against abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  2. Animal Welfare Activism: Stand up for those who cannot speak. Back initiatives that raise awareness, lobby for stronger laws, and promote kindness.
  3. Emergency Relief and Natural Disasters: In times of crisis, extend a helping hand. Aid children and animals affected by floods, fires, or storms.
  4. Urgent Medical Care: Swiftly address emergencies. Ensure injured animals and vulnerable children receive immediate attention.
