    Congratulations to Marcella Price, the 2023 James W. Caughy and Florence L. Caughy Verbeek Vacaville High School Scholarship award recipient!
Marcella is a Vacaville H.S. graduating senior who will recieve a one-time payment of $5,000 to use toward tuition, fees and books at the California college or university she plans to attend in the fall.
  We wish Marcella every possible success as she embarks on the next chapter of her life!

2023 Scholarship Eligibility Criteria - quick overview

One competitive scholarship for $5,000 will be awarded to an eligible college-bound graduating senior currently attending Vacaville High School (Vacaville, CA). 
Applicants must meet general eligibility criteria as shown below:

  1. earn a four year “B” grade point average (3.0 GPA or better) effective as of the end of the 3rd quarter of their Senior year
  2. have been a Vacaville High School student during both their Junior and Senior years
  3. be of 'good moral character' * and have shown a genuine interest in family, school, and community service, and in public affairs generally. 
  4. provide current official grade transcripts
  5. applicant interview by the Selection Committee may be required if a final candidate

* i.e., possession of honesty and truthfulness, trustworthiness and reliability, and a professional commitment to the legal process and the administration of justice, as well as the condition of being regarded as possessing such qualities.
