Art is for Everyone — Young, Old, and All Abilities.
At Joyful Art Center, we believe creativity has the power to build confidence, create connection, and help people feel like they belong.
Located in Vacaville and serving communities throughout Solano County, Joyful Art Center is a nonprofit community art center dedicated to making meaningful, high-quality art experiences accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Every week, children discover what they are capable of. Teens find a welcoming place to connect and create. Adults and older adults try something new. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have opportunities to express themselves in an environment designed to help them succeed.
Your support helps make all of that possible.
More Than an Art Class
For us, art has never been only about the finished project.
It's about the child who proudly says, “I made that.”
It's about the teen who finds a place where they feel comfortable being themselves.
It's about an individual with a disability being given the support, time, and space to create independently.
It's about families creating memories together and adults discovering that creativity doesn't have an age limit.
Joyful Art Center creates these opportunities through classes, camps, workshops, community events, adaptive arts programming, teen programs, and outreach throughout our community.
Our goal is simple: remove barriers and give more people the opportunity to experience the joy and confidence that comes from creating.
Creating Access Across Our Community
Joyful Art Center serves children, teens, adults, older adults, families, and individuals of all abilities through a growing range of programs. Our work includes:
• Youth Arts Education – Classes, camps, workshops, homeschool programs, school partnerships, and hands-on creative experiences that help young people build skills and creative confidence. • Adaptive Arts – Inclusive and specialized opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore art in supportive, welcoming environments. • Teen Programs – Creative spaces where teens can make art, build friendships, explore their identities, and feel connected to their community. • Community Outreach – Bringing art beyond our studio walls through schools, community organizations, collaborative projects, and mobile programming. • Art for All Ages – Workshops and creative experiences that encourage adults, older adults, and families to connect through creativity.
What Your Gift Makes Possible
Community support allows Joyful Art Center to say yes more often.
Yes to a child whose family cannot afford an art camp.
Yes to expanding adaptive programming for individuals who need additional support.
Yes to creating safe and welcoming opportunities for teens.
Yes to bringing an artist and supplies into a school or community that has limited access to arts programming.
Yes to trying a new program because our community has told us it is needed.
Donations to the Joyful Art Center Fund help support art supplies, teaching artists, scholarships and reduced-cost programming, adaptive arts resources, community outreach, teen programming, and the development of new programs that respond to the needs of our community.
Help Us Create a More Joyful Solano County
When you give to Joyful Art Center, you're not simply purchasing paint, paper, or brushes.
You're creating access. You're building confidence. You're helping someone find connection and belonging through art.
As Joyful Art Center continues to grow, we want to ensure that cost, age, ability, or circumstance never determines whether someone gets to experience the joy of creating.
Together, we can make art accessible for all and build a more creative, connected, and joyful community.
We invite you to make a gift to the Joyful Art Center Fund and help us continue creating opportunities for our community to connect, create, and belong.
